Livingword Global Leadership Mission

DAY 31 | 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2025

Quote:

“The primary task of the Church is to be the church, and that includes making disciples and planting Churches”

UNREACHED PEOPLE'S GROUP:

PEOPLE'S GROUPS FULANI

They are traditionally nomadic cattle herders, though many are now semi-nomadic or settled farmers. Very proud of their heritage and Islamic identity, becoming Fulani usually means becoming Muslim. They strongly emphasis purity, honor, and hospitality, and also known for oral poetry, storytelling, and elaborate dress.

Population: Over 40 million (across 15+ countries)

Main Countries: Nigeria (largest concentration), Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Burkina Faso.

Language: Fulfulde (with various dialects); some also speak Arabic or local languages

Religion: 99% Muslim (primarily Sunni), Islam is deeply woven into their identity, traditional beliefs (animism, ancestor veneration) sometimes mixed with Islam.

Spiritual Barriers

· Islamic pride: Becoming Christian is seen as betraying their ethnic and religious identity

· Persecution: Fulani who convert to Christianity often face family rejection, violence, or expulsion.

· Geographic spread: Hard to reach due to their nomadic nature.

· Low literacy: Makes written Gospel materials less effective, audio and oral methods work better

Christian Outreach

· Evangelical Christians: Less than 0.1%

· Bible Translation: Portions of the Bible are available in major Fulfulde dialects, but the full Bible not always complete

· Mission Efforts: Ongoing work by mission organizations like SIM, WEC, and Frontiers

· Discipleship Strategies: Use of oral storytelling, radio broadcasts, and mobile health outreach.

PRAYERS POINTS

· Pray that the Lord soften the hearts of Fulani leaders. May their influence open doors for the Gospel in their communities. Psa. 21:1

· Father, strengthen and protect Fulani believers. Surround them with Your peace and courage to stand firm. Math. 25:10

· Pray that the Lord call and send laborers who will love and serve the Fulani with humility, wisdom, and boldness. Rom. 10:14

· Pray that the Lord raise up creative teams to produce Fulani-language Scripture, songs, and stories. Let every message touch hearts in a way they can understand. 1 Cor. 9:22.
